One issue with most social media plugins today is that they hurt your website’s performance by making unnecessary API calls which means they are resource-intensive.

The USM Premium plugin is one of the most optimized social media plugins in terms of impact on a site’s loading speed (optimized code, compressed pictures etc.).

Also, we made our icons load after everything else on your site has loaded, i.e. the user experience isn’t impacted – which is the most important point.

Note: Some features in the plugin are only possible by using embedded codes as provided by the social media sites (“Like” for Facebook, “Subscribe to Youtube” etc. – see the full list below). The more of those features you use, the longer it takes to load your page (fully). So you can de-activate the ones you don’t really need to improve loading speed.

Features requiring embedded codes from social media sites (increasing loading time):

If you are still experiencing increased loading times, and believe it is not due to the features mentioned above, please make sure the loading time is actually caused by our plugin, i.e. disable our plugin temporarily. If it’s still taking longer to load, then it’s not due to our plugin.

In some (rare) cases it could be due to another issue (e.g. conflicts with our plugins or template issues). In this case please raise a new support ticket (at the top of the Premium Plugin’s settings page) so that we can have a deeper look. Thank you!
